Wine Label Design Contest for
The American LGBTQ+ Museum
In June 2024, I participated in a design contest hosted by The American LGBTQ+ Museum in New York. The museum had partnered with Bergevin Lane Winery from
Walla Walla, Washington, to create their first wine bottles. As part of this collaboration, they launched a contest for designers and artists to design the wine labels.

I submitted three label designs in total: the two designs shown on the left

All three labels were created in Adobe Illustrator using colors and the logo from the museum's website. The first design, on the far left, utilizes colors directly from the museum's palette. The middle and right designs feature a topographic texture inspired by the location of the winery in Walla Walla, Washington. Below, you'll find some of my sketches, and digital drawings that served as a reference for my designs.

After creating the digital sketch in Adobe Illustrator, I also scanned and imported a hand-drawn illustration into the program. I converted the topographic art into line art and applied a clipping mask to overlay it on a colorful gradient. This technique produced a distinct outline of the topography, which I then incorporated into the wine label designs.
