Distorted Type

One of my senior courses in college was a typography class, which quickly became a favorite of mine due to its unique blend of traditional art mediums and digital design. For one abstract project, our professor encouraged us to experiment with typography by incorporating various textures. We began by printing out textures, then used a paint thinner outdoors to transfer them onto fresh paper before scanning them back into Photoshop. This process resulted in the distinctive background texture you see in this design. Next, I incorporated song lyrics from an MGMT track using Adobe Illustrator, later refining the design in Photoshop through layer adjustments and color manipulation.
